What it does

This is the one to move to if a normal clay is not holding your hair, which is mostly a question of hair being dense or coarse rather than of the product being weak. What sets it apart is that it stays workable: most strong clays set and then crack when you touch them, this one can be pushed back into shape with your fingers hours later. It is the most expensive option here per gram, so it only makes sense once you know a lighter clay is not enough.

What it will not do

Overkill and overpriced for fine or thin hair, where a lighter clay does the same job. Not a shine product.

How to use it

On dry hair. Start smaller than you think, warm it fully between the palms, then work from the back forward. Because it stays pliable you can fix things later instead of rewashing.

Key ingredients

Kaolin clay for the matte finish, beeswax for the hold.
